Profile of H.E. Mrs. Samira Bawumia<\/strong><\/h4>

H.E. Mrs. Samira Bawumia<\/strong> is a philanthropist, humanitarian, climate, and gender advocate. She is the founder of the not-for-profit organisation, the Samira Empowerment and Humanitarian Projects (SEHP)<\/strong>. She served as Second Lady of the Republic of Ghana<\/strong> from 2017 \u2013 2025<\/strong>. Through SEHP, she has initiated critical and timely interventions in areas of health, education, and women empowerment.<\/p>

Her Excellency is the Chair for the Africa Women and Children\u2019s Conference<\/strong>, a nuanced platform to discuss the issues affecting women, children, and youth, particularly the impact of climate change on women and children in Africa, assess relevant mitigation and adaptation policies and projects, while utilizing indigenous knowledge as well as innovative ideas, and coordinate a network of organizations focused on women and children in the climate change economy in Africa.<\/p>

She is a Global Ambassador for the Clean Cooking Alliance<\/strong>, a public-private partnership hosted by the United Nations Foundation<\/strong> to save lives, improve livelihoods, empower women, and protect the environment. Her Excellency is also the Global Champion for the Health and Energy Platform for Action<\/strong> of the World Health Organisation<\/strong>, a Global Advocate for the Clean Air Fund<\/strong>, and a member of the Women in Leadership Network<\/strong>, a network chaired by H.E. Mary Robinson<\/strong> focused on advancing women\u2019s leadership globally.<\/p>

She is a recipient of the Sustainable Energy for All (SEforALL) Seven for 7 Award<\/strong>; an award which celebrates global leadership on Sustainable Development Goal 7<\/strong>. Mrs. Bawumia was named a \u20182018 African Woman of Excellence\u2019<\/strong> by the African Union Commission<\/strong> in partnership with the Diaspora African Forum<\/strong>. She has represented Ghana and the African continent at various international conferences and fora on tackling human trafficking, reproductive health, clean cooking solutions, women\u2019s health, women\u2019s empowerment, and women\u2019s rights.<\/p>

She holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Law and Sociology<\/strong> from the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology<\/strong>, a Master of Business Administration (MBA)<\/strong> in Project Management<\/strong> from the Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration<\/strong>, and a Bachelor of Laws (LL.B)<\/strong> from the University of London<\/strong>.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t
