It is our goal at SEHP to make sure that every child in Ghana cultivates and immerses themselves in the habit of reading. We believe that limited resources must not stunt a child’s ability to dream and explore the world around him/her. There is a pervasive lack of libraries in rural communities and schools. SEHP seeks to address this by providing alternatives through the School Library in a Box initiative.
Boxes filled with books are donated to public schools to encourage a love of reading and improve literacy and critical thinking skills. In addition, training will be provided for teachers in the schools such that they can use the books to support their teaching and help the students make the most of the books supplied.
17 schools across three regions have received school library boxes and many others are in line to be furnished as well.
We welcome donations from you to help sustain this initiative.
