Her Excellency Mrs Samira Bawumia was invited by the International Justice Mission as Guest Speaker at the International Women Conference on Trafficking in Mumbai, India, which took place on the 27 -28 of July 2017.
The conference, which is the first of its kind, was organised by the Indian Government under the auspices of Maharashtra State Commission for Women in Partnership with IJM, India. The conference brought together stakeholders across the world to assess the current situation, discuss issues related to trafficking on a global level and examined best practices to combat the heinous crime of human trafficking.
Her Excellency Mrs Samira Bawumia delivered the keynote address at the opening session of the conference.
